So, I bent the plate "lip" under the front heat exchanger, going over a large rock uphill, just hit it at walking pace. I don't think I bent the frame, or is that thing considered "chassis", or can I just straighten it out and it is as good as new? Do I even have to straighten it out, it's not that bad, it just deviates maybe 3-4 millimeters.

I think what Your referring to is the aluminum panel that rivets onto the bulkhead/frame and it closes off the whole area.I've bent that same lip your talking about and tapped it back into place as much as I could before so I can't see why you shouldn't be able to do the same thing. If your riding season is still going and it isn't bent that bad then leave it but if your done riding and it bothers you enough take the time to take this plate off and straighten it back into shape properly.I know it's kind of a big job but at least it would be correct.
