If anyone from Canada seen the SRX hood on Kijiji for $100 advetised as " nearly new "........well I replied to the add in normal fashion... Unno ". I'm interested in it can you send more pictures yatta yatta ... Explained that I lived four hours away etc .... And Was specific about its condition since the price was so low . Well as you can guess I meet him and it was junk ! Why ??? Why ??? Why ???? The sickening part is that the hood appeared to have never had any bolts or rivets in it ever but that maybe his kids used it as a toboggan on a dirt hill . I know this is nothing new but GAAAAWD !
 

And like you said WHY.....Why get all technical taking pics to hide the flaws.......Like they think your just going to buy it any ways. I see ads on craigslist all the time " Runs great......needs motor. WTF? or "Runs and drive great.....NO REVERSE. WTF? Or an add that says "Hit hard on the drivers side".....followed by 20 pictures NONE OF WHICH ARE THE DRIVERS SIDE! Any time I am selling something I am BRUTALLY HONEST about everything, Take it or leave, at the end of the sale (or no sale) I have a clear conscience.

I just bought a set of Boyesen rage cages for my SRX,I figured for what I got them for it was cheaper than buying a set of stock cages.Anyway I open up the box to find one of the cages must've been on a cylinder that caught fire because the reeds are totaled,looks like they're melted a bit.The only picture I had to go by when I bought them was of all 3 with the carb flange facing out,none of the reed petals themsleves.It's as much my own fault for not asking for more pics but why do people try to deceive buyers like this?
 
Three years ago I was looking for a mint 79 exciter ... Looked at lots of clean ones but wanted something a lil cleaner . Found one about 5 hours away that was described on the phone as the cleanest one I'll ever find . I make the trip and get there to find the hood stitched together with zip ties and the exhaust wired to the engine that was missing parts of the fan shroud ....
 
The fun of online ads. It makes you wonder why people would talk to you and say it is in mint condition. Knowing you have a 2 hour or more drive and you show up only to find something that should be in a wrecking yard.

I saw an ad online for a long tracked viper with triple pipes last fall. Looked to be in good shape from the pics even though it was poor lighting in a shop. Anyways called the guy and he said it was in really good shape. Of course when I go to check it out it was beat to piss. One of the trailing arms was bent and all that radius rods where bent also. The only thing that was in good shape on that sled was the seat. The new track was shot for the w-arm breaking and the center shock rubbing the track. He had no idea what he was talking about and was telling me it was a rare 02 mountain viper with a black head which made "More power" then the stock head. Wtf. Had hartman extensions on it too. Why can't people just tell the truth these days?? :o|:o|
 
#1 Showroom condition/Like Showroom = carried off showroom, never driven and stored properly ?
#2 Better than Showroom condition = how ?
#3 Mint = like coins....?
#4 Excellent condition = Rare
#5 Very good condition = see #4
#6 Good condition = needs nothing to be safely and reliably driven
#7 Fair condition = needs minor work and I.M.O. the most common.
#8 Poor condition = needs major work/rebuild ?

*Condition as expected for a 5 year old sled........* = stay away from, has broken hood hinges/ripped seat/dented tunnel.....

On the other side of the coin I sold my old 79 SRX a few weeks back n the guy that bought it was awesome , he Travelled 4 hours , new his stuff , never complained or whined or anything just an all around nice guy to meet ,
 
Nothing worse! It's too bad everyone selling parts or sleds was as great to deal with and honest as the guys here on TY...been burned a few times as well but you live and learn!

I tend to stay clear of prices that are too good to be true lol
