So like it says, last week I blew a golf ball sized hole in my Mag side pipe, about 4" from the manifold. The piece was hanging on by a little bit of metal. I put about 100 miles on it the week before with no issue, started it up this day, drove around a bit, and headed out to meet some guys to tell stories and run through the gun. As I pulled up, the sled seemed a bit loud... I had the pipes off in the morning, so I figured I forgot a spring... Which I had. Put it on and went to do a run. Sled was stupid loud and slow. So, once it cooled off I was able to find the hole on the bottom side, by looking between the pipes. My buddy ended up running it to his place and welding it up. I tried it out, then pretty much ran wide open for the rest of the day with no issues.
The only thing I noticed was one spring on the bottom wasn't hooked up. Could that have allowed the pipe to move enough to cause a hole?

My wife blew a crack in her's from a back fire on her viper, same here welded up and good to go. Probably a weak spot from rust?

I had the same problem, I had the pipes off to do some work, when I put the pipes back on I had ran a extra spring to try and tighten things up a little and I'm thinking the extra spring was touching the pipe about 6 inches from the header and with heat and vibration and the tension of the spring rubing I blew a berfect hole in the pipe. Weird but I think it was my own fault by putting a spring where I shouldn't have. Drove back home welded that piece that fit the hole perfectly back on and continued a 700km trip with no issues.
