Hi I am new to the world of sleds as far as working on them and having anything that's not a dinosaur and I have 3 94 vmax 600 and just got a srx 700 and I need to figure a few things out like how to sync the carbs on this 700 srx monster that scared the shit out of me today on the grass in the back yard and it's missing a third handle on the break side that I have now clue what it is so can't replace it and if you have knowledge on vmax I am going to enjoy this page as I am new

Best thing to do is go to the tech section on here and go to the carbs section , it has a step by step on how to clean and sync the carbs with pics , I could explain but with out pics it may be hard to understand , it's not a hard job !

I didn't see the carb sync method for the SRX in the tech section but I'll try to paste the page from my manual here for the procedure.
CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZATION
1. Remove:
· Carburetors
Refer to “CARBURETORS” in CHAPTER 7.
2. Adjust:
· Carburetor synchronization
Adjustment steps:
· Turn the throttle stop screw 1 of carburetor
#2 until the specified throttle valve height a is
obtained.
Throttle valve height a:
1.2 mm (0.047 in)
· Adjust the throttle valve height a on carburetor
#1 2 and #3 3 with the adjusting screw 4.
· Move the throttle lever 2 ~ 3 times.
· Make sure that all of the carburetor throttle
valves are at the same height.
3. Install:
· Carburetors
Refer to “CARBURETORS” in CHAPTER 7.
ENGINE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
1. Adjust:
· Engine idle speed
Adjustment steps:
· Start the engine and let it warm up.
· Turn the throttle stop screw 1 in or out until
the specified engine idle speed is obtained.
Turning in ® Idle speed is increased.
Turning out ® Idle speed is decreased.
There's supposed to be pics to go along with this write up so that the numbers in the description make sense but hopefully you can use this much because I can't seem to find out how to include the pics.

Something to keep in mind when syncing the carbs your actually adjusting #1 and #3 to match #2 (if memory serves me) One of them will look totally differant, this is what they call the "slave" as its not adjustable, slide will move up/down as you adjust idle or more/less throttle. Some guys use a socket (as in socket and ratchet) others use the non-drilling end of a drill bit to measure the opening.

That is correct, you set the centre carb to the correct measurement then use the locking screw on the #1 and #3 carbs to set them the same.Once you put the carbs back on the sled you then set the idle to spec.

For what its worth - I've checked mine twice since I bought it new and as expected, they've never moved.
I've had simular results with other racked carbs.
Unlike a multiple carb set up with cables that strech, carb racks have made syncing a thing of the past unless someone has monkeyed around with them.

I was wondering about that when I read this thread, couldn't figure out how they would go out of sync if you didn't touch them.

Unless the locking screw comes loose on one of the carbs the synchronization really shouldn't ever go out.
