Heated Shield/Visor on a 96 xt - what wires?
I am going to be running a heated visor/shield on my 96 vmax 600xt. It isn't electric start. What would be the correct place to tap into to get the power for the shield. I want to keep everything working, ie grip heaters, oil light, head light.....
I have already searched, but most of it is for new sleds.

I looked at the wiring diagram. It looks like I should tap into the supply to the heated grips before it goes through the variable resistor. That way the shield is "switched" on when I turn the grips on. Does that sound right?

There is a plug near the footwells, (I believe it is on the left on that sled) that is used for the reverse warning beeper. It has a constant 12v.

Oh, that would be handy. Even on models that don't have the reverse?
