What do you guys think about drop brackets. Read every post i could find with a search. First they sound confusing as all to install but i would just make a template to ensure proper install. I have my skid out for maint and found a cracked w-arm that i had welded, also i thought at times i may have been ratcheting this winter but it looks like i was just hitting the top of the tunnel with the track. Drop brackets would solve this but i dont want to deal with the problems of binding skid, increased ski pressure ect.... Are these cb performance ones pretty strait forward now as far as install? Any comments or help would be great.

take it for what its worth: i have made and installed drop brackets for years on just about every sled out between 1980 and 2004. literally hundreds, most i have tested. i have never seen any ill effects from my own creations, but there are limitations. all four manufactures, all different models, no problems. so i say thumbs up to properly installed drop brackets.
trick is, you just cant take big swings at the skid and you need to maintain your skids geometry. for example, you just cant drop the rear mount straight down and expect things to cycle properly. in the case of the pro action skids, the center and front pivots need to drop incrementally. in other words, if you drop the rear say 1", that center needs to come down about 5/8" and the front around 3/8-1/2" to keep things in check. these are just numbers as a scenario, not numbers to actually go by.
no first hand with cb stuff, but they do make some nice products. just keep in kind that your suspension cycles through its range of motion in an arc. upset the arcs, bad ride.

We put CBs on the sons SX6. Easy to do. I thiiiiiink that the front shock had to move something like an 1 1/2. It's in the instructions he sends with them. I'll get a picture of the front shock geometry difference. No shock binding at all.
That looks great and sounds like what im looking for. Some more detailed pic's would be awesome!

The setting that this picture was taken is the lowest setting. He went 136 w/ the original ripsaw. On my girls XT, we're going 144 w/ a 1.5 crossover. His SX does have a FANTASTIC launch though.

I had the cb performance brackets on my 97sx and always felt like it had to much ski pressure (my front end is lifted quite a bit) but i just got used to it. swapped out the pro action for and edge skid last year. Much better
