Can the two rear shocks be removed from a 1999 700 sx without removing the entire skid?i

Yes, it is a PIA but can be done. Jack the skid up a get in there. 14mm bolts.
x2 on it can be done. just did it on kirkswim's war.
Not bad at all. I've done them a bunch. Get the skid off the ground, grab a 14 mm combo and a ratcheting box end. I also back off the bolts on the control rods, the ones that hold the spacers, and set the FRA to soft. You'll likely have to tap the bolts out. Leave the nut on until it bottoms. I then use a small brass pin to drive them the rest of the way out.
