Ok we just got all that new snow here and we had to go for a ride, we put on about 65 miles in a field nothing but fresh powder. Here is where things start to get strange. First my neighbors 02 viper starts acting up like it sucked some snow up but was ridable the tach and light swere all not working, so we went back to my uncles house to see if we could thaw out the carbs a little bit (the heaters were on) When just when we pull in the yard my srx starts going crazy and is running at about 700 rpm wouldnt take any throttle at all or it would bog and die so i thought maybe my srx had gotten some dust in it also. After takign the hair dryer to the carbs the viper is going again everythign is good to go with it. The srx on the other hand was still a no go but i noticed my headlight was on a little bit so i hit the highbeams when boom the engine jumps up to idle everything kicks on and is ready to go, so i go hmmm and put it back on low beams everything shuts off and the sled goes to die so i hit the highbeam again and boom everything worked. So i take off on hi beam do a quick lap and put it on low beam runs perfect now i thought it was strange so we get ready and get back on a main trail. About 10 miles down his viper starts acting up again no lights by then it was dark out, so he hits his low beams and his sled boom runs perfect. This is very strange to me and my question is what would make them act like this? Why would the headlights make the sleds quit running like that? They ran perfect the rest of the day. Both sleds had carb heaters on but it was nothing but powder busting drifts and wiping out let me tell you a bar hook in the leg doesnt feel to good.
