I was given a 340 excel that sat for a long time. So I drained the tank and cleaned the carbs 3 times. Finally I got it running great, went for a little rip across the grass and said okay let's put It back together and she's good for next year. So I put the air box on, fired it up and went to move it to my garage and it wouldn't rev past 4500. Took the air box off and it ran great again. Is this because I'm running it in the middle of the summer and it's so rich? Or do I have a float problem?

Very well could be the problem, I ran my enticer when it was still +15 outside last year and it ran like sheet! Bogging, sputtering and coughing etc. This was after I cleaned the carb also. As soon as the cold weather came...it ran mint all season long for me. Not one problem on the old girl I would wait until it's at least -10 outside, then try it again.
