Hello everyone ! :sled1:

I have my sled since 2 years and I would like to upgrade it a 'bit ! It's a vmax 700 xtc deluxe (red heads) with the reverse
I would like to change the cluctching and the gearing.
I go on trails and I go in the powder maybe 50/50.
What is the best clutching and gearing setup I could use ?
All this for the low price possible
I know there is some setup on the TY tech http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/tuning page.htm
but I don't know wich one to take for the use I do (trail/backcountry)

Thanks !

Do the 97-99 SX700 trail. In place of the 22/40 gearing specified, drop to 20/40 and replace the chain. How's your track look. That would your next focus if it's sub-par.

Aren't all reverse sleds 39 on bottom.? Are 4G a available? Please correct me if I am wrong. I am not near a pic now to check it out.

The 20 tooth upper gear is extremely hard to find new. It is out of production. I went through a major search a year ago and finally got one shipped from a dealer in Colorado. I am il Illinois. If you need one and nobody on here has one have your dealer do a search. There may be some left somewhere.

And if I want than the ski lift a bit when I go in backcountry what could I do ? and for the information my sled had a 136'' ski-doo suspension with 1,25'' track by 16 inches.

It is a 1998 Vmax and the skis are some ski-doos flex... here is a picture of it ! I would like thans the front be higher too but it is an other project ! ;)

the top gear isnt any differnt in a sled with reverse so you can just buy a 20 tooth standard 13 wide gear and it will go right on. Its only the bottom gear which is differnt.

For the jetting, it says to put the main to 142.5 but when I look in the spec it is higher... is it normal than the new jetting is smaller ?

thats what i run in my stock 97 sx 700 are 142.5 mains they are right theyre a safe jetting that are on the richer side rather than leaning it our bad and melting a cylinder down and yes smaller jetting just means leaner which means hotter running and more horsepower.
