bunch of guys tried to do pipes and porting on the 340's back in the day around here. they told me, as I used to be a 340/410 enticer guy, the best thing to do to those motors was to clean up the ports and then leave them alone. they said it was too much trouble for the power they did get and it greatly reduced the reliability.
they run the best on single pipe and single carb.
you could try a round/flatslide on it as they where mikuni butterfly carbs mostly. a good clutch clean/rebuild would not hurt either to make the most of the power it makes.
