Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and new to yamaha. I have rode and fixed Polaris, ski-doo and arctic cat. Yesterday I picked up my first yamaha, a 1989 yamaha ovation 340. I found this sled on kijiji for a whopping 400 bucks only issue with it is it needs a new track and seat has a rip or two and some moss growing on it from sitting for 7-8 years. The track I plan on swapping to a 121 from a 07 phazer. Since I have that plan under way I need to address the seat issue. I bought the sled in hopes that I can fix it up for my wife to ride since her current sled is a 80s enticer with a smooth track . So my main question here is has anyone swapped the seat for a seat off of a newer sled?

She likes the seat on my 07 AC jaguar z1 1100cc so it would be nice to ride a comfy option for her too.

you will have to relocate the suspension for a 121 on that sled I think. usually came with a 116" track.

if you are handy with tools, any seat can be made to fit. heck the one off of her 340 might bolt right up. sounds like you just need to replace the seat foam with different density and cover to make it to her liking.

I have seen pics of a ovation with a fx nitro seat mounted on it.

I may have found a 92 venture parts sled with track and skid in-tack so I may use that one instead, I'll make my own tunnel extension and everything.
Do you know where I could find the pics of the ovation with a nytro seat? Sounds interesting to me.
