Hey everyone. I am new to the website and have recently decided to transform my '86 phazer into a more rider-forward and setup.
The changes I want to make are:
Plastic Skis - check
136" track and suspension swap
tunnel extension
shorten the seat
new custom built wider running boards
removable rear rack for when I go for long rides (to hold a fuel tank, cooler, etc.)
short windshield, I need help finding!
handlebar hooks
led bulbs
im probably forgetting something....

I have seen many pictures of Phazer builds, I really want to do risers.
Nothing crazy like 10 inches or anything, I only want to do like 3.5 or 5.
THE PROBLEM!
The stock cables wont allow for this to be done. I can only go 2 inches, any higher and the brakes apply when you turn...
can anyone please help me out and tell me how they made risers work on their phazers? or if anyone has any input id really appreciate it.
Thanks Guys For All Help!

You could use a dirtbike front brake cable, they are longer.
I am building a phazer as well currently for my daughter to race on the oval track.
windshields are on ebay, I got a mid one and cut it myself to the desired height. I also think I have a brand new smoke one if your interested..? let me see.

thanks for the reply!
if you have a smoked one i may be interested, they look pretty good on the old phazers
I think that the problem with the brake cable is that it is not a hydraulic brake line its just a cable but I can't think of another sled to get one off of... any ideas??
thanks in advance and good luck with your build

I am aware its cable brakes, thats why i am suggesting you use a dirtbike front brake cable, you can make that fit with not much fabrication, look at a honda xr80 front brake cable, that will be longer then the stock phazer cable and it has a threaded end to make attach to the caliper mount.

old 84' sno-scoot brake cables work perfect, has the factory correct bends off the caliper and you can reuse the spring tensioner. Also, the cable throw is the same as well.

I'm guessing Phillip made a mistake in his year of the snoscoot. 88 would be the first year for them. Part number is 85G-26340-00-00 for the brake cable
