Studs for 89 exciter how long??

I got my all stock 89 exciter running last weekend but still need to stud the OEM track. What length studs will work? Do I need stud spacer up in the tunnel or will the clear the coolers?

I cant remember exactly what the stock lug height is, but you dont want to be any higher than 3/8" over the lug. The tunnel coolers are not an issue as long as you lay out your stud pattern to avoid them. The bigger isssue is the front and rear coolers. You MUST have heat exchanger protectors FRONT AND REAR!!! If you fail to install these protectors, you will end up damaging them and probably end up walking home. These protect the exchangers from the studs digging and poking holes in your cooling system.

Doe's anyone know where to get these protectors or maybe a picture so I can make some?

I have seen the heat exchanger protectors come up for sale on E-bay from time to time. It seems the front protectors are a little harder to come by than the rears.

I found the rear ones on ebay (82M-21978-00-00) but I cant find any for the front heat exchanger.
