87 Exciter: Broke an exhaust manifold bolt off so I only have three holding the Y pipe on. The Bolt broke just slightly outside of the head casting so the y pipe is basically is just sitting on the stud on one of the four bolt connections . I doubt I can get enough grip on it with vise grips and heat cycles. Any ideas? I don't have a welder so I would need to remove the engine and take it somewhere if I were to try and weld a nut on. It does not appear to leak but I am sure it would be a risk to leave as is.

Maybe I could rent a welder and try that?

Black bear, a left handed drill bit would probably work. If that wont break it loose, an "easy out" sure will and yes, it will leak if you dont fix it.

Thanks Throttle Junkie I am going to pull the engine out and take it to a local shop that has experience at getting them out. Really a bonehead move on my part as the first three came out so easily that I was not careful.

Pulled the Engine and took it to a local shop who was able to weld a washer/nut on the end of the stud and break it free. $30 and my time to remove and replace the engine.
