I want to gut my Viper airbox and jet accordingly for this modification. It seems the viper airbox is very restrictive looking. Is this for a reason or just sound deadening? I was going to modify it like the Mt max air box but wondering about removing everything and rejetting for it. This is the very first thing you always do on any Polaris but I don't see much talk of it here. Any one actually tried this. I am looking for experienced replys of people who tried it not just your guesses please.
thanks

I Just put on CPR bored carbs on a stock motor with CPR pipes. JEFF had me gut the box add TPI velves and un hook the vent line. He put in SRX needles and nozzles. So it's kind of like a SRX air box now. He said on stock carbs not to un hook the vent. Is your VIPER stock? If it is gutting the box might not let it pressurize properly. Any one else know about this ?.....

not stock

I have SLP triples and my cylinders have been decked to raise comp. without screwing up dome chambers and volume. I gutted everything and noticed about a jet size difference. I like it gutted. Have 95 hard miles gutted and it works fine. I left the vent on.
