Last fall I long tracked my viper to 144in. and never did get aftermarket skis for it. Last winter with all the snow we got I noticed how bad the stock skis were in the deep snow. I was going to get some slp powder pros but now switched my mind and want to get the slydog powder hounds. I was wondering if I should go with the 7in or 8in wide ski. The 8in has a deeper heel compared to the 7in but wondering if the 8in will be too wide for my riding style. I was reading some older post on this website about ordering the apex mounting kit compared to the viper kit. Sounds like a few people had problems with the viper kit and stated the apex kit would have worked better for installing the slydog skis. Aren't apex and viper skis interchangeable anyways?

I bought the 7" Powder Hounds and they wrok great. If you get these I guess they would be a universal type ski. You can also look at the Hell Hounds. They're 7 1/2 wide. As for mounting, order the kit that fits trailing arm or Proaction. I never had a problem with my mounts although it was for my 00 MM.
