It's all stock I just plan on loading up the weights, just looking to stay close to my clutched 01 that my wife rides..lol

"all stock" doesnt tell me anything.................what year srx are we even talking about using the 8dn10 weights in ?
the 98-99 dont use the same set ups as the 2000-02 does...this is why I said, need more information in order to get any help

i was going to start by loading up the weights and adding 3 shims and see where that gets me.

use 4.5 in both holes on 8dn10 weights, you may need to add a washer to the tip one if you take it out for a long pull and it climbs to 8500+rpm, you want to stay around 8300rpm for 98-99srx.
Use the stock 99 yellow/white/yellow primary spring(no shims), 52/44 rear helix with a green dot yamaha sec spring at 60-70
51/45 helix will also work well, same sec spring setting
the 99 srx has 15.0mm rollers, you can use the 15.6mm rollers and will raise engagement speed and shift rpm some, they actually work better overall,but thats really fine tuning the set up, you can start off with 15.0 and see how you like it.
