Went through my sled and noticed my rear skid is pretty shot. I've got a extra skid from my 97 vmax sx and I'm wondering if they'd swap to my 01 srx?

I think you'll have a nicer ride too...I'm pretty sure there's a bit more travel in that skid.

Chances are, the Vmax skid is just as worn as your SRX skid. Search BTV "tighten up yours" for a good read on getting the most from your pro-action skid before installing.

Ya you should tighten it up, might as well clean them both up and tighten them while they are both out. And maybe consider getting the shocks fully rebuilt on one of the skids. Cost me $320 for all 4 shocks.
When I bought my srx, pretty much everything was shot! I rode it the first year with only a tune up pre-season and got pretty lucky nothing went wrong all season. But last year I had the shocks rebuilt and it was night and day difference! The guy who rebuilt the shocks said that they've probly never been rebuilt...they were completely shot.
Just something you may want to consider having done.

Just checking back today, I believe all of my shocks are OK, i'll go about swapping this weekend. i'll post pics of swap if anybody is interested in that. But thank you for saving me the headache of taking off the stock srx and not being able to mount the sx skid.
