went to get a new secondary spring from my parts guy because ive been having trouble with my sled not holding a certain rpm in transition from hard pack to powder. (long story). when i got there i could have swore i had a pink secondary spring so thats what i got from him. when i went home and changed it i realized i had a green secondary spring. im an idiot. my question is can i use this pink secondary spring. i have a 97 sx 700 w/ bender triple pipes, reed spacers, and some of turks clutching recomendations. also where is a good starting setting for the preload for agressive trail riding.

The spring rate is quite a bit different between those 2 springs, so you would probably be best off going back to the dealer and getting the correct spring. Here are the specs for yamaha's secondary springs.
