ok desprate for help here blew up my cpr viper last season got an 02 srx bottom end viper stator and pick up turned it over today no spark
dont know what to look for tried ohming the pick up but not sure what im looking for on the right panel is the regualtor and condensor i think pulled a red and black wires in connector and saw voltage when i turned it over do i need to use an srx pick up when i put it together i thought the mounting was a lil different not sure anny help would be great

there is no differance in the stator and pick up coils from any year viper and a srx from 2000-02, the differance is in the older srx from 98-99. so if it was a 2000-02 srx bottomend its the same.
If its a 98-99 srx bottomend the gap will be too big for the pick up coil to flywheel and youll need to modify the pick coil location. The easy way to tell is the old engine will be marked 8df00, new 2000-02 will be 8df10 casted in case on recoil side where stator is.
first thing to check is all your connections that go the stator and the coil rack.

you have 2 options to fix it,
1st one is the simplest and easiest to do, get a flywheel off a 2001-03 sxr 700, 2002-04 sxr600 and put on it, this will be a larger diamter flywheel and will have the 4 magnets on it for the 3d ign. system. The flywheel MUST be from a dual bulb headlight model to work, as stated they have 4 magnets on the outside of them, not 3 as do the old systems.
2nd option: move the existing pick up coil closer to the flywheel to yield a .025-.030" air gap between the pick up coil and the magnet on outside of the flywheel. You do this either welding a bit of aluminum to drill and tap new mounts or make a bracket to move the pick up closer that bolts to the case and the pick up bolts to the bracket. This is alot harder to work with once the engine is in the sled, not so bad when on the workbench.
