I have a 99 yamaha sx 700. I just had two the rear shocks rebuilt. W arm has been rewelded and had gussets added. FRA is set at middle setting. Limit straps at 1" (25mm). Both shocks are set at the mean length for preload according to yamaha owners manual. I weigh 190 lbs. When I sit on the sled the suspension does not compress at all ( seems way to stiff). If I take the weight off of the front skis the suspension compresses as I would expect it to. I also have maxx perf adjustable control arms if that matters. What am I doing wrong? I tried to set everything to mean settings as a starting point but it doesn't seem right. Would appreciate any help or comments. Thanks

Sounds like something is binding up in the skid. Did you do any other work to the skid other than rebuild the shocks?

Just had the w arm welded. I thought it might be binding as well but like I said when I take the weight off of the front of the snowmobile it moves freely as you would expect. Then when I set it back down it gets stiff.

If you haven't checked this out, it is a must read for the Pro action.

Sounds like either the transfer rods are at an incorrect setting or you have the center pivot where the shock mounts flipped.
