Hi,
I picked up a sled the other day, starts up ok, but running on only the recoil side cyl. So I thought the coil may be bad - I already swapped and trimmed the coil wires and swapped plugs side to side with the same results.
Looking closer at the engine, I noticed a ripped (oil?) seal on the clutch side. The sled does start up and run. Would this seal have anything to do with the single firing?
What would you all recommend changing to resolve this issue in the picture? Just the seal?
The previous owner had it for a kids snowmobile, so it may have been firing on one cyl and driven like that. Pistons seem intact.
Also, anyone know what year the motor is? e294-005891
Thanks

that is a pull the motor job for shure. as yamaha nutz said, the 300/340 was the same bottom end/seals for those years.
