Here is part of my bounty from Thursday. Love it! I've wanted one for a while and finally got one. And I fell into it. Found an 85 vmax on Craigslist and with talking to the guy he had this and a 79 enticer 250. So, we struck a deal and I bought all three. Compression was 140 in both holes. Sled is in pretty good shape. I'm really happy with it. The enticer too. Enticer overall is in the best shape out of the three. Enticer has 1700 miles exciter and vmax have over 5k. I've read a couple threads and it seems a few people think that he 77 exciter is the best year. I was wondering why they think so. I'll do some more reading over the weekend. But Ill ask anyway. Just wondering about some basics for the exciter. Such as plugs. What people like to run for chain case oil. And of course the good ol oil debate.
Btw. Pretty much the only thing the sled needs is a new gas tank. The cap is broken. From what I've also read 76-77 tanks are different than the others. So if anyone has any leads I'd appreciate it.

76-77 exciter tanks are the same ............why is the 77 considered the best..........don't know only difference is the ignition which is just the box with the same timing curve and the clutching ......77 uses the srx primary over the puck clutch .....I still use the puck clutch on my 76 and it is no difference in performance to the 77 that my buddy owns mine is better out of the gate too..........you can also use a 75 gpx tank as that is the same as well .............most of the tanks cab be fixed by some one who knows how to plastic weld I have fixed plenty over the years
