Before you laugh and say waste of time, how many turbo phazers have you seen On The trail..Hello I have an 86 phazer and I thought about turboing it. I have read a few threads about guys running turbos on lake racers at 10 to 15 pounds of boost making about 135 hp max. I know they have done work to then like heads and internals other than just slapping a turbo on and calling it a day. I read that also fuel delivery and carbs probably will be changed. I thought this would be the most ridiculous thing to have goin down the trail. To me if it isn t to bad I would love to do it. I am not trying to find the biggest numbers I am just looking for at least 100. Any greater would be awsome.

As with any horse power gain, turbos create heat... and a lot of it. A fan cooled engine is not a good candidate to throw a windmill on. Im sure someone else can chime in and give you a more technical answer.

While throttle junkie is right the motor will not live it has crossed my mind a few times to turbo a Phazer but just for racing ........and if done right I can see as much as 135 hp ..............hell I can get 90hp out of a natural one easy and I have been playing with other porting combos and pipes that I can see 100 hp too just have to find the time to try it .................but at this hp it will create too much heat for anything more than drag racing ...................
