hi guys i have owned my 04 viper s for about 7 years now and still love it ive got 9500 mile on it and the rear skid is bottoming out way more now so i either need shocks rebuilt or new after market ones. now as far as i know these shocks r non rebuildable is this true and if so what r my options for replacements thanks guys

I'm pretty sure they are able to be taken apart and rebuilt. A guy I've heard of is Eric the shock guy. You can send in yours and he'll rebuild them for quite reasonable $.

I had Eric do 2 sets of shocks for me already. I sent them in and had them back in less than a week, $25 per shocks and I'm very happy with the work he did.

from the symptoms you described, it needs a rebuild bad. brothers was like that on the war at end of season and he had less than 50lb of nitrogen charge left in the shocks. spec i think was 280lb + .

youll need a set of shocks from a 02-05 standard viper to be able to rebuild them, the viper "s" uses non rebuildable shocks on the skidframe, why they did that i dont know since they used the ohlins on the front.

thanks guys for the mony im going to pay for new shocks and still have my back hurt im going to change the skid right out any suggestion

ya but i heard they r break if u drive aggressively with them and that will b most of the riding that it will b doing is that true cause i would like to stay with yami parts
i was thinking of a polaris iq 136 or an edge

I put an m-10 in my viper s, love the handling and the ride. A longer skid with require chassis changes
