I am located in Newfoundland and have a low km 01 SRX 700 with a 1" camoplast trail aggressive track. I love the engine but with our snowfall the 1" track is not cutting it. Also the rear suspension is terrible when the trail gets rough. Here are my questions I have a 97 venture with the engine gone that I am thinking about parting out with a new 136" ripsaw and the long travel suspension. Will this bolt into the SRX, what other parts will I need? Am I better off selling the track and buying a 1.325 cobra in a 121 and using the long travel shocks from the venture (will this work)? Do I need to use the longer limiter straps from the venture. Also the guards were removed from the tunnel before I got the sled and I am not planning on running studs. I also have all the other venture parts electric start, reverse etc will any of this work?
Thanks.

it would work but you are going to have to either fab a tunnel extension or steal a section of the back of the venture tunnel to move the rear cooler back on the srx. should be ok with out the tunnel protectors as long as you run un-studded and keep an eye on the track tension. front mount points will be the same for both skids, you will just have to transfer the mounts over or move them to the apropriate place on the srx tunnel.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to upgrade to a 1.325 cobra and rework the suspension. Will the venture shocks mount up with longer limiter straps or am I better off getting the shocks revalved?

you can swap the limiter straps over. make shure you take a good look at the transfer rods as they are what was set different between the long travel and the short. never did the mod myself as i always bought long travel sleds.

Good to see another newfie on here. Everything should be fairly easy to swap over. drill out the rivets on the ventures tunnel extension and fit it to your srx in the same position. Be carefull not to drill into the exchanger (or just keep the exchanger on it if its a liquid cooled engine) Remember the venture was sprung and valved for 2 people so it should be stiff enough for you. I believe they all come with steel shocks which arent rebuildable or revalveable though. You can swap the front shocks over to which will lift the front end. I actually have a venture parts sled myself. If you go with a longer bigger lug track you can steal the 8t drivers off of it the gain some clearance and gear the sled down a bit.
