vmax motor sxr gauges not working correctly need some help

i put a 97 sx vmax engine into a 2001 sxr 500 chassis di the whole harness swap and everything and the only problem im having it that the rpm gauge is reading way to high the newer style round gauge says i engage at 7kbut then i hok the older style one up to it and its normal does anyone have any idea to why this does this. Ive been told the stators pt out a different amont of power so before i buy a stator i was wondering if any of you would be able to help me. please.

Try a round tachometer from a tripple.

500 tach has a different pulse than one from a triple just put a tach out of a triple and you should be fine
