I was out taking a little country cruise last night and saw a little bit of Yamaha blue sticking up out of the weeds behind someones house, I just had to stop and see what it was. Turned out to be a 2000 srx. I talked to the owner and got a great deal on it. She was flipped and rolled so it's pretty beat up. Looks like it had been sitting out in the weather for years so she looks rough. The guy I got it from was planning on putting the motor in a polaris that was also sitting in the weeds rotting away. lol. It kinda sucks to see these great machines abused and left for dead like this.

Not sure what I'm gonna do with it yet, the back of the tunnel is banged up, I'll have to look over the whole chassis to see there is any other damage to it. I might just use it for parts but if I do that I'll keep the chassis around incase I would wanna build another one someday. I really don't need another sled but I just couldn't see leaving it sit out there to rot. For now I think I'll just pack it away in my shed.

I looked it over good today. Only damage to the chassis I can see is the right rear corner...I think I could straighten that out, and it's bent a little by one of the trailing arm mounts. Engine turns over but not very smooth, looks like water got in through the carbs since the air box was off and ran into the crankcase, probably rust on the bearings. Pistons and cyls look good yet. I do have most of the parts laying around to rebuild this thing....even an extra engine so I'm thinking this may be my next project. My camaro needs to get done first though, so..... it may be a few years yet before I get going on it. Would be kinda nice to have a pair of 2000's!

Great find. I found my '01 behind someone's house in Wild Rose. Same deal, was rolled and never fixed. Some people just don't have the same love for these things that we do.

Yup. I used a hood I had laying around with good paint yet. I had a wide front end kit that I put on to replace the bent pieces up front. No decals yet she's just all blue. Never been studded. So I have 144 gold diggers going in this year. Can't wait to do some field rippin this winter.

Nose cone is nice, just a few scuff marks that could probably be buffed out fairly easily. This thing was hit by a semi while being trailered. It's a 95 vmax 500 LE, elec start and reverse, only 1600 miles on it.
