hi guys im going to do a no action skid swap i would like to stretch it while im doing it but it is really hard to find an edge 136 skid but really easy to find iq 136 skid. so my question is there a difference in the width of the iq compared to the edge skid everyone thats selling one says it will bolt in to an edge chassis which means they r the same but i think they r just trying to sell them. and by the way we just had 5 snow flakes this morning8) so really want to get this going thanks

idk about the width, but to inform you on the suspensions. The edge suspension actually is a really good design suspension and a rather cheap to buy. The edge suspension is said to be better because the suspension has more shock travel where as it has less actual travel then the iq skid. The iq skid has substantially less shock travel but yet more overall travel in the suspension. I have a edge skid in my sx viper with clicker shocks, i absolutely beat the heck out of my sled and it holds up very well to everything i throw at it, better yet i even extend it to 128 and probably will go a little longer next year to 136. Love the set up, you are probably gonna end up finding alot of iq136 shift suspension which have really bad non-rebuildable shocks. You might be better off finding a edge skid with some descent shocks, go on ebay and invest in some 136 rail extensions and have a proven setup. skid you should be able to find 200-250, rail extensions 100 dollars and the extenison i just custom made mine.. lol it doesn't look professional but it works well

ya i think thats what im going to do cause i found a 136 iq skid close to me and went a measured and its an inch shorter in width so the edge skid will b way better for me cheaper easier and my track still has a couple of years left so when its done i can put the 136 extensions on thanks yammitrip1

x2 on the edge skid. We can help you out with getting it in there right too. Me and another member figured out the ideal mounting points. I have them saved somewhere. see if i cant find them.

Devinzz1, i think you are referring to using me, them measurements in the pictures sure look the same as mine;)! i think if you go under the build thread or working log one of those two,me and you have a discussion of how to install the edge skid in a viper.....And talk about how awesome they work and how better the transfer is and more controlled....did i state that it rides better......ALOT BETTER.

^^^ yessir. If using the original polaris measurements the skid will go into the tunnel to far when bottomed. It barely clears with these measurements.

sled looks good, do you have a few videos on youtube of that sled? i think you are riding with a yamaha phazer in the video too.

The IQ and Edge tunnels are narrower then the Yamaha trailing arm sleds. I mounted a IQ comfort 136" in my Vmax 700sx. The comfort had steel shocks and bigger springs because it comes from a 2up sled. I still have the same shocks in it but I switched out the torsion springs for which were very stiff. The ride is way better with the proper springs. I bought the skid when it had about 300 miles on it, and now it has over 8000. I also purchased a Mountain Max last year that has a 136" x10 with a Coil over conversion. I beat the crap out of both sleds, but do a lot of maintenance every year, and the skids really hold up. I have jumped some crazy jumps and never have had to weld anything.
