Read alot on here and will say this site has helped alot.
Ok here goes,
When I bought this sled it had a 1in. Predator track and the no action skid, since ive had it I put in a new m-10 skid w/extensions and a new camoplast 1.5 x 136 intense track and will say I love the extra traction and how fast this thing gets out of the whole, the only thing I have changed in the clutchs is the primary spring to lower the engagement from 5000 to just under 4000.
Ok for my question:
Im wondering if I should change up the cluching for the bigger track and or lower the gearing, I did lose some top end but will still bury the speedo just not as quick, any suggestions on my setup
Ride mostly trail but love to open her up and race whoever whenever,
Good friend of mine has an 04 f7 clutched and he has a hard time keeping up with me out of the whole and on top but I think i can get a little more out of her to complement the changes I made.
Thanks mike

I'm not the best one to comment on clutching but I will say you would no doubt gain your quickness back if you changed to a lower top gear, say 22 or even a 21.Your sled has an 800 big bore so it's not lacking hp and would most likely benefit from some tweaking of the clutch components like a different helix and springs.Hopefully Mrviper will chime in,he has a lot of great advice on clutching.

8200 rpm is a little low too. You need to post up exactly what everything is in your current clutch setup.

just my 2 cent's i would loose the k&n filters,& put the stock air box back on or find 1 & gut it out.like staggs said need to know the arm's.might need to take a gram or two out of tip to get your 8500. i had a lot better luck w/ a 52/40 helix from a 48/40.so i think the 47 straight dosn't have anuff lowend.i know cat's helix's will work.need to find a multe angel one.your 23/38 is 1.65 with that track & skid i would find a 39t gear that's a 1.70 this would help out much better.

Alright sorry about that, had to buy a scale today
Primary has a hauck x weight that weighs 48gs
In the back theres an allen that weighs 3gs
In the mid theres a flat head screw that weighs 4gs
In the tip theres an allen that weighs 1g
Total of 56 grams

I was definitely thinking about dropping a tooth or 2 on the bottom gear but wasnt sure, I dont really like the pods either but thats what came with the sled so I just left it, wonder if ill have to drastically change the jetting or not if I can find a box

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's a blue/blue/blue spring.Yamaha uses color dots to designate the springs rate,if you look in the tech section there's a chart with clutch components and it will show weights, springs and rollers and give the preload and shift rate of the springs.
A couple of bucks

So I guess I should change the weights and maybe springs but what too, it seems to shift out real quick around 30 mph but seems to pull alright after

Was thinking about buying a h-c kit 40-10 then maybe I could be able to adjust my setup more?
Or does anyone think my hauck setup is alright? Maybe some minor changes to it?

will kittykiller you are going to need snow!.it's still to heavy. i would take out the 1g in tip & see how that works.it's all about dailing in.get her in the 8500-rpm & hold on.

I know theres no snow, I just wanna try and get her all set but yeah I guess I cant do any tuning without riding it, just didnt know if anything on my setup stood out as to where you guys can see an improvement or not, I am thinking about buying a 40t rear gear I think it definitely needs that with the bigger track
One thing the sled does do is that it shifts out real early, not sure if its just the nature of the secondary, I know alot of you like double angle helixs but not sure what I would need, havent seen alot of big bore setups on here to get any idea of what would be close to what I need.
I know you guys might get a laugh out of this but a friend of mine just bought a brand new cat 1100 turbo and supposedly hes getting it tuned for 240hp, it might be along shot but I think it would be pretty badass if a 12 year old sled took his or atleast gave him a good run and to throw that in his face lol, I know my chances arent that great but ya never know, its not how much power you make but who can get it to the ground and im trying to figure that out, atleast I know I can beat my other buddies f7 just never raced a newer turbo sled
Any big bore guys wanna share a setup?
Any clutching gurus have any ideas?
Any help is much appreciated
