i was out riding today and i came to a stop. when i took off nothing but sputtering missing popping sound. so i shut it off and started it back up and it ran perfect. any ideas before i take the carbs off and have a look. there is alot of gas under the carbs and air box is this normal. but i cant see it leaking anywhere.

If i were you, I would take your carbs off and clean them out good. While you are in them, make sure your floats are adjusted properly, and your slides are adjusted properly as well. I think that the gas leaking is prob because of a float sticking or maybe being out of adjustment causeing it to run out of the vent line. Probably wouldnt be a bad idea to clean your power valves as well.
On the Tech page there are detailed instructions on how to do the different adjestments on your carburators.

i think its got something to do with my tempa flow. holtzman says something about flooding or extreme riding can result in fuel in the float bowl lines. any fuel in the lines will result in erratic operation. i have the one way valves. luckily i read something about this before so i bought them when i bought the tempa flow. has anyone else had this problem.

happenended to me
I had a 99 srx 600 and the exact thing would happen to me, the sled would go to 3000 rpms and sputter and wouldn't engage i would pin it and it'd still sputter and not move. It would do it about twice in a 50 mile ride. I was told it was the TORS. Btw I didnt have tempaflow just a bender silencer and thats it for mods. I never found out what it is cause i had alot of problems, so I said screw it and sold it and bought a 98 srx 600 which I have had no problems with. One way to temporarily stop the problem is when it does it, let it go to idle then press the throttle, it always worked after that.

tors
I think you should just disconnect it and save yourself some $$$, unless you really want to keep it, you can just have it repaired by you dealer.

300.00 to clean the carbs? You have got to be kidding! Listen, all you have to do, is remove the airbox, loosen the big 'clamps' on both sides of the carbs, one on the airbox, one at the reeds (engine), disco the tors wires, throttle cable, and pull the choke right out of the dash. Then, loosen the little drain screw on the bottom of the carbs to drain the fuel, and take the 4 phillips screws out of the botton of the float bowls. Remove the pilot and main jets, and blow them out, make sure there is nothing stuck in there. Thats it, stick everything back in, and you are done. If a dealer charges you more than 1.5 hours, he is trying to take you to the prom, without the prom. We have done them in 40 minutes, on a srx, including changing jetting, and thats taking our time. You better go lay a smak down on the dealer.

Bypass the tors and try it.What you are describing sounds just like it.I would suggest not leaving it bypassed though(very dangerous if throttle sticks).usually cable stretch is the problem with tors adjust your cable freeplay.Oh yeah bypassing it is easy just unplug it on the top of the carbs and plug the ends together.I also have activated the tors with big a@# gloves .good luck and by the way I will clean your carbs for $200LOL Your dealer is nuts.
