Hi I purchased set of OEM mirrors for my 03 viper, I have a bad neck so hurts to turn around and look behind me. Unfortunately there is nothing in the box about how and where to mount the mirrors. Since there are OEM I expected that when I looked under hood I would see obvious bosses that just need to be drilled thru but I do not see any obvious mount points.. Anyone out there have mount ing instructions, is there a separate piece I need to get for mounting mirrors?
Thanks

I would imagine everything will come as a kit. On my 02 Viper, there are actually dimples in the paint where the mirrors would mount. Check your hood really good. I decided not to drill my hood and went with a slip on wrist mirror...works great.

There are 2 dimples molded on the inside of the hood. Look on the inside, about where the windshield ends. You won't need any additional bracket. I've used these since I bought our pair of 97 XTC's. Put them on 2 Vipers and our 01 Venture.

Yup the dimples are there under the hood, just look real close for them. Hard to see.

thanks guys I look for a boss Under the hood but was expecting them to be big so I didn't see anything guess I wasn't looking close enough I also may try wrist mirror idea 1st as I hate to spoil looks of sled if I don't have to
I installed a set of the OEM mirrors last year on mine and would up getting a hand mirror after. In my opinion, the OEM mirrors were too small and being non-adjustable it was a challenge to even see headlights behind me. The wrist mirror is really the cat's *$$. So simple, unobtrusive. With I would have done that first. The only good thing about the OEM mirrors is that they really do blend in with the sleds original contours, but I know what you mean about trying not to ruin the lines of the sled.

Klipper ,what OEM mirrors did you use? Every one of the 5 sets I've installed is adjustable. They fold right in so you can use your cover as well. Just curious !
Viper Dave, the pics below are not my sled, but they show the same OEM mirrors I have. The mirrors are ridiculously useless. Non adjustable. The mirror is bad quality as well. These come as almost a two piece clamshell that you put together and it fills in the gap between the windshield and the hood. I guess the only good things are that they do deflect a little more wind and they don't really ruin the clean lines of the sled.
Maybe they were an early, discontinued style. I got them before last season, but they were in the old, but original Yamaha packaging.
