Quick question, can the "long" primary springs be used in the clutch that has the "short" cover? Generally the "long" springs are longer and have higher preloads but I was looking at free length specs and some "short" springs are listed slightly longer than the "long" springs.
I have a decent yamaha drive clutch that I am using to replace a junk 9 tower on a 99 arctic cat zl 600 and I need to go with a higher preload than what I currently have in it so hence the long spring but I dont have an extra long spring cover.

You will have coil bind putting a tall spring in place of a short one
