8ch-14450-00-00 This is the part number for 97 sx700
8cr-14450-00-00 this one shows on 97 vmax 600 twin
in Google search both show an sx700 So are these 2 part numbers the same thing??
The 8cr is 16 bucks cheaper. So if it fits a 97 sx700 why not.

Im not sure if they all use the same air box, but the one for the 600 could be for a twin.

If you wanna save some money you can just put new foam on your old one. I used a humidifier filter on mine, you can get it just about anywhere like menards or walmart for less than $10. It looks about the same as the original stuff just thicker. I glued mine on with hot glue, works great!
the plastic is busted up on the one we have. I will need to check it again to see how bad it is. replacing the foam is a good idea.
does the 600 twin and 700 triple use the same filter.

If memory serves me right the 600 twin filter is about 2/3 the size of the 700 triple one. 600 triple and 700 are the same. Srx is totally different

You can weld the plastic with a soldering iron. If you need to add some plastic, just use an exacto knife to trim a "stick" from the SAME material you are repairing.the plastic is busted up
