Changing 2001 sxr500 skis to new tuner skis. Bolts broke and bushing rusted on old bolt. Called dealer and was shocked by price from Yamaha. Dealer stated that bolt should be 12mm x 150mm. I understand the bolt length based on the new ski width but the hole in the ski measures out at 10mm. Anyone have luck sourcing the bolts and bushings aftermarket?
Being metric bolts you might have a hard time finding a replacement source for them,the only issue in using a bolt other than a Yamaha one would be making sure you get one with the strength necessary for such a crucial point.As far as the bushings I'm sure there's enough guys on here parting out sleds that could accommodate you rather than buy new,or if you have a decent machine shop locally you might get some made.
