im rebuilding a 85 phazer and i broke one of the philips bolts threading into the cylinder (jug) that holds on the plastic sheild above the exhaust manifold. there is no thread left to put a nut on and weld it. any suggestions to remove it would be greatly appreciated.

Drill a hole in it and use an easy out

Left handed drill bit should work. try to center punch it then drill with the left handed bit, drill in reverse obviously. Most of the time the bit will grab the bolt as it drills in and spin it out. If not you can stick an easy out in it.

I know the bolt you are talking about. Have had the same problem with the same bolt. More than once....
If it's broke off flush weld a washer to the stud and then tack a nut to the washer. Works 99.9 % of the time. I only drill when all else has failed and easy outs almost never work on anything that is stuck from corrosion.
