Hey fellas, doing some pre season maintenance. I noticed my chaincase gears are not lined up perfectly when placing a straight edge along the face of the gears...they are off a bit...also upon further investigation, I noticed the sleds right side outer driveshaft cog is barely even touching/driving the track lugs, like only contacting about 1/16". it looks like it's out too far, This is on a 98 SRX 7. Any ideas why that outer cog would be out too far as well as gears not perfectly lined up? Would a bad bearing cause this? Locking collar moved? Any advice is appreciated

Take your bottom gear off and inspect bearing. The bolt holding the cog on pulls the shaft in tight to the left side and a seal race doubles as a spacer that rests against the bearing which is fitted in the chaincase so those are the only points i could see causing this

Outer driver issue:
I assume you are studded, if you don't have a lock collar on both outer drivers add them.
98 they were not stock.
Normal operation would cause the outer drivers to "walk' out, if the lock collar was loose or not added.
