running a fresh engine. anything special need to be to the oil system when installing or before start up?
priming, bleeding, etc?

always run premix on the first tank after a rebuild man, it's real cheap insurance. premix 50:1 and the make sure that it eats about as much oil out of the reservoir as it would. it'll toss alotta smoke the first tank, but who cares, gives you a chance to make sure everything is working right without blowing stuff up.
If you had all the lines out its a good idea to bleed your oil pump. Lucky for a viper owner it takes about 2 min. Just have your sled running and loosen the screw inbetween your carbs that goes down to the oil pump when oil starts comming out slowly tighthen in. It is so easy to do.

I just replaced my oil pump. I started the sled with the airbox off and reached in to open the oil pump up all the way. I held it there and watched all the air bubbles run through the transparent lines untill they stopped.
