Just had my srx all chromed and polished. I was wondering if there is such an animal as a Lexan hood for an SRX? I googled and found brtech racing has hood for a yamaha sx. Please, post feed back or pics. Thanks Shane

Brtech didn't used to make one for a srx. Just the sx. That is what I bought for my prostock. One piece with no place for a gauges. Not a big deal for a drag sled. There is a picture of it in the classifieds under prostock 1000. I know you can buy it and see how it looks on yours. lol

I ended up speaking with mountain fit hoods in Wyoming... He has a mold and said he hasn't used in 4 yrs and only then he made maybe 5. He said he wanted to look at the mold to make sure it's ok, and he said he would be willing to make for me with the understanding that everything would need swapped over and that is much thinner than an OEM one. That would be fine as I could have some polished braces made to accent all the other polish and chrome...

used to be a shop in spokane, wa that made the lexan hood for the srx. dont recall the name, but it may come to me. long since out of business but like mtn fit, youknow theres a mold hanging around out there somewhere.

id buy one too. maybe get a better price if he has 2 sold

Me too! That looks sweet with the factory decals on it. You'd have to do some serious under hood detailing. Reminds me of a pinball machine. I literally just sanded and primed the left side of my hood. Theres a reason all my pics are of the right.

Sorry, I haven't followed up with him yet...flu ran through my house. Been crazy. I will follow up and give him a call on Monday. Last I spoke with him he was going to dig out mold to make sure it was ok. I'm glad a few of you are interested, that will make it work his while. As far as the detailing goes, look at my post Braaaapzilla, i think in pretty close to the under hood detailing:-)

WOW! and I thought I did a good job on my tunnel. What did you use on it? I tried everything except sledbrite and chemical guys but what seemed to work best for me wat mothers wheel and mag polish with a 4 1/2" grinder with a felt buffing pad. I wont use my good buffer, too big and so far only do cars and my John deere. Just too big.(Makita 9227 something).
