Went to start my sled for the first time this season after cleaning the carbs. It started would run for a second then die out. Noticed it wasn't running right and I seemed like it was running on the center cylinder only. I have spark to all 3 cylinders. Could it be a simple as fouled plugs or a fuel problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated

try switching to high beam when starting... 01s had an electrical problem this may help. make sure you have fuel at all 3 carbs and try new plugs. you said you cleaned the carbs... my 00 sxr has a weird habit of filling them with oil after sitting all year. might not hurt to crack the carb drain and see. also make sure you have enough fuel in the tank, done that before.

I opened up the drains and fuel can out out new plugs in and started it back up. No change still running on one cylinder. I'm opening up the carbs now to see if something is plugged or stuck. Got enough fuel just put some fresh premium in

Are the plugs wet? Engines need 3 things compression, spark and fuel air. Make sure you take the pilot jets right out and spray carb clean and compressed air till you see it come out the little hole, make sure you set the fuel screws... Done that before and had similar symptoms. 1 last thing, look at the fly wheel through the little hole and see if the pickup magnets are rusty. That can cause mayhem.

Opened up the carbs sprayed some air through them and put all back together. She's running on all 3 and purring
