hey guys, i have a basket case 87 exciter with the mikuni vm38 round slides. its flooded since day it rolled in. i've been all thru these with cleaning and since have bought new needle and seats viton tipped and want to make sure im setting the float height correct. if i invert the carb should 18mm height be while pushing down on the tiny needle that the brass tab hits on or not. im not sure why the needles have these? or should it just be inverted not pressing. please help!!!!

never mind guys found my answer. height is with needle NOT compressed
