check out ebay there is generally a bunch of part out parts on there. Be wary of used chains though, they may be overly stretched out.
A couple of bucks

My last chain I bought was through an A/Cs dealers Parts Unlimited catalog. They're way closer than the Yami dealer. It was a 13 wide 68 linker. I believe it also had the same stamping identification on each link as a Yamaha chain has. 50 or 60 bucks comes to mind. Remember it's the number of pins you need to count. Each pin= 1 link.

The easy way to figure it out is gear teeth. 60 total teeth and under 68 links, 61 and over 70 links

How does the equation change with reverse?

It doesn't. There's not enough difference with the reverse idler. I'm running 20/39 gears on a 68 link no problem. Dealer put a new 70 link chain on when it was still 21/39 and it used up all the slack in the adjuster.
