Anyone ever come up with any home made ideas for getting a little better traction on your running boards???? Was thinking about trying to run some sheet metal screws through mine until I notice the coolers under there.

although this isn't home made, the previous owner put a set of yamaha sno grips on, and wow do they ever help.. almost to much traction!

Search up the running board mod. Its where you roll out the stock running boards and add some from another sled. This also widens and stiffens thr running boards. Should cost under $100

WRP makes a mountain tuff running board insert for the old phazers that fits the SX chassis as well with a little modification. I have a set on a mountain Max and they work great. I used one of those vibrating multi cut tools to cut the running board with a sheet of steel under it so I didn't go through. Where the window isn't completely open the snow melts faster by sitting right on the cooler instead of through the board.

My Son bought a special tool for dimpleing the running boards. Basically you drill a 1/2" hole and install the tool top and bottom. Tighten the nut and bolt, this will crimp the aluminum to an OEM dimple and design. It works great. I will try to get the link where he bought this from. Al

A guy on the hardcoresledder forum sells them.
