I just picked up an 85 enticer 340 long track from my brother in law to pull my daughter on a GT. it has been sitting in a barn for a couple years but looks to be in decent shape. the problem I am having is when I pull recoil it is not engaging I took apart and cleaned everything including spring. when I pull rope the cog doesn't push out and grab. I looked at part diagrams and the parts are all there and in right order but it doesn't engage. the plate that covers the cog( not sure if right word but im not sure its exact definition) has a lot of play in it wondering if this is possibly problem or not. any help would be great as I am relatively new to the sled world.

.
Friction on the centre post makes the plate stay still until dog draws out and then it rubs the post washer until you
let go (stop pulling) .. at which point the friction works in the opposite direction to drag dog out of the way....
DONT lube the centre post washer and spring assembly... probably needs some oil removed... the smallest amt oil lube to stop rust
..
That's my guess
Check against drawing in case a washer has broken and dropped out as well
