Already thinking of improving my ride on my new purchase. I have an 128" mono sitting in my shop so why not use it? Has anyone tried it? Thoughts ?

I have not installed a mono skid, however I have installed a 128" track with a relocated skid in one of my Sxr's. I love the new ride. excellant handling in the bumps and off trail is slightly better than with the 121. I highly recomend this modification to anyone who is replacing a 121" track. Al

When you guys put the mono in the srx, did you long travel the front and with what, Viper?
I bought some rx-1 ohlins. Shaved the eyelets, widened front 1" on each side, made some custom upper mounts that raise the upper mounts as high as i could get them. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet.

That seems like a lot of work. I have the half inch extention put on the stock olhins, which gives an inch of ski travel, I was wondering if this would be enough with the longer rear travel. I like the idea of going to a wider front end though.

I think you will be fine with just the 1"

Put the mono out of my Apex in wifes Viper and stretched it to 136. Rides awesome. Very nice upgrade.
