Should I replace the secondary spring? I've put the twin pipes on and the other stuff. I think it still is the original spring in the secondary, should I put a new one in? It's a 96 600xt with, oh, 7000 miles or so.

definately replace both springs, give the clutches a REAL good cleaning with hot soapy water, scuff up the sheaves good with a scotch brite pad, make sure there aren't any worn out parts (weights, rollers, buttons), replace any that are worn, check the center to center and alignment, clean a new belt with hot soapy water to remove the mold, and then run her.

I replaced the primary spring and weights at christmas. I put all new rollers and other peices in last year. Cleaned all down, scuffed, etc this past summer. I think the spring is the last peice.
