SRV tunnel protectors...tight fit?

Installed 3/4" tall tunnel protectors and a SkiDoo track that has lugs that are about 0.9", maybe slightly less...in a staggered pattern.

I have the skid in, but not the top middle wheel shaft. Track is very close to the protectors.

This track having a staggered pattern, has little fingery lugs every third bar where the clips are...

I could shave those off.

Is this common?
