I have to imagine the same thing has happened to everyone with a Viper that the 2 posts on the bottom of the air box that hold it up are worn down pretty good. It is to the point that there are holes in them and it makes the a mess with misc oil and gunk leaking out over the season. I was going to plug them up with silicon but then wondered were they open in the first place to allow any potential water/condensation to leak out or were they closed?

Open in the first place! Your fine leave them alone
Both my srx and viper I cut about 3/16" off those nubs, makes the airbox way easier to get on the carb boots.
