I did parts of my polished tunnel last season to make a "graphic" of sorts,...worked really good. Held up better than expected. I was expecting the sides of my tunnel to get damaged from boot wear but it stayed on. Actually the rivet heads wore off at the end of the season and kind of look cool with the contrasting black. Best part is you can just peel it off if it doesn't work out.

Looks good but how do you ride at night with the headlight blacked out?

Looks good. I dipped the wheels on my truck a couple years ago and am surprised how well they held up. Think I'll do this to my phazer since I just picked up a venture hood which is burgundy and my sled is blue. Nice thing is you can peel it off if you want.

Did you dip it yourself or have it done?

Myself. Anyone can do it though its pretty fool proof. You can just about any color you want at this point through dipyourcar.com but you can get rattle cans in most hardware/auto stores. NOTE: going from the us to canada the prive nearly triples. Cheapest place is prodip.ca

I was wondering if you pealed it off the headlight, I plasti dipped my tail lights on my truck last winter as a tint. Went to pull it off in the spring and it was a pain in the a$$. Almost seemed like it melted to the lens. Don't use plasti dip to tint lights, takes forever to get it off. The hood looks bada$$ being flat black btw

Weve never had a problem taking it off tail lights. Did you use black so it was light enough to see through? The more coats you put on the easier it will peel off. It actually has quite a high melting point and ive heard of people using it on exhaust tips with no problems.

Yea I used black and did a thin coat on the taillights so it would still shine through. I seen where people have also plasti dipped their brake calipers and not have problems either. I've plasti dipped a few sets of rims so I know it peels off way earlier with a lot of coats. Works good to protect rims in the winter from salt though.

Looks pretty sick. Ive never used PlastiDip, how much did it take to do the hood? Several coats? How many cans?

I used a full 2 cans just so it was nice and thick. It only took a few to cover all the red.
